Hi from Wellington New Zealand. I run an international spec Passport Max which struggles to pick up the redflex cams which are being used more and more here.
The max only goes off when ur practically on top of the cam. They apparently fire a low frequency narrow K band beam with little scatter which makes it difficult for detectors to pick up.
Does running the unit in a vertical position actually make any difference. Is Escort seriously looking at ways to defeat this technology? Anyone got any updates? We do not disclose information about upcoming products but we are certainly aware of these Redflex cameras and are working on products to better warn drivers of their use. In the meantime, can you or anyone else reading this post offer any insights to the supposed improvemed performance on redflex cams by mounting the detector vertically?
Any hard user road tested evidence out there? September 21st, Mr Haydo. Hello I currently run the Escort Passport ci and am concerned that it does not make the slightest of beeps when driving past Redflex pole mounted camera systems. September 22nd, Only ci International models will detect it.
