There were prostitutes on the ground floor using the place as a brothel. When I complained to the reception they said there was nothing they could do about it. Worst building in Australia. Stay away from this place. Some people slept in the room before me, and it wasn't clean.
There was hair in the bed, all towels were used and bathroom floor wasn't mopped. My request for a cot was ignored. Reception unstaffed, and staff phone number on mailbox. No chance I was staying there with my family, I had to walk on the streets at night to find a place to stay. Stayed for an hour - horrible! Wouldn't even risk staying the night. Needs a safety inspector. The worst place i have stayed for a long time. It was dirty, no soap in dispensers, no milk or ice or water in the fridge, cold tap not working and five appartments sharing one kitchen and laundry.
The washing machine was broken and there was no iron. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I booked here at very short notice and the price was quite reasonable for the standard. It is not posh but quite adequate. The rooms are a good size, decent fridge and bathroom. Kitchen facilities in common room shared between 4 rooms was nice touch and kept very clean. It is close to the markets and good eating areas and not far from main bus stops on Currie St.
Only a 10 min walk into the city centre and Rundle Mall Checking in can be a problem as reception only open during normal office hours and you need to call someone to get a key. I used to walk past this place thinking it was a bit of a dive, but the rooms and the building are fine. I'd stay here again. Stayed here as booked by someone else on my behalf, never again. Furniture from a junk shop, no TV, no radio, no bedside lamp, no nothing.
